Dorset Blind Association is based in Bournemouth Road, Lower Parkstone.
Established in 1918, Dorset Blind Association works across the whole County of Dorset to help blind and partially-sighted people in a variety of practical ways. It is an independent charity providing support for up to 1,000 local people each month and it is not affiliated to, or in any way supported by the R.N.I.B.
The charity also recently formally extended its remit to provide more help for people with hearing loss, recognising that many people have both a sight and a hearing loss.
In 2018 Dorset Blind Association celebrated their 100th Anniversary. A new dimension to both the work and the fundraising of the Association is the opening of charity shops, including this one at Lower Parkstone.
