Beautiful blossom-filled gardens at Holme
Holme For Gardens, at West Holme, near Wareham, features a stunning 12-acre garden that takes inspiration from places such as Hidcote Manor and The Laskett. The gardens comprise distinct sections, separated by hedges, borders, and areas of taller planting, all linked by walkways. In the middle is ‘Holme Henge.’
As I write this (April 17th), the gardens are awash with beautiful blossom and many emerging spring flowers.
The ornamental pond, which appeared in 2024 and includes a bird hide and seating area, is home to nesting swallows, which have just flown in from Africa. And chickens have also made their home in the vegetable plot area of the gardens!
Several stunning, handcrafted metal sculptures by Dorset-based Wild Edge Sculptures have appeared around the gardens, on loan for the coming season. Designed using premium materials and traditional metalworking techniques, these are beautiful temporary additions to an already fabulous setting.
A sculpture of a face can be found in ‘The Palm Garden.’
